Substrate for terrarium for land turtles. Turtles very often burrow into the substrate to take advantage of the microclimate near their body. A proper microclimate is important for the healthy growth and development of turtles. Not every substrate can exactly replace natural conditions, that's why Lucky Reptile now offers Tortoise Bedding - a substrate whose composition was developed with the help of leading European breeders and zoos.

Use: fill the terrarium with a layer of at least 10 cm. Turtles should always be able to completely burrow into the substrate. If necessary, keep the substrate slightly moist by spraying water regularly. We recommend creating places in the terrarium with different humidity of the substrate. Remove droppings and food scraps regularly. Depending on the size of the terrarium and the number of turtles kept, the substrate should be completely changed every 4-6 weeks. When changing the substrate, we recommend cleaning the terrarium with Lucky Reptile Biodor Terra.

Please be careful! The substrate is not suitable for use with underfloor heating, such as heating cables and heating pads. Moreover, this type of heating should not be used at all when breeding land turtles.
