Hydro Drain acts as a drainage layer under the classic substrate in terrariums. Water seeps through the substrate down between the Hydro Drain balls, so the substrate in the terrarium will never be wet or muddy, but optimally moist. As soon as the substrate in the terrarium begins to dry out, the water stored in the Hydro Drain will begin to evaporate back into the substrate. In this way, we will maintain optimal climatic conditions in the terrarium even after a longer period of absence and avoid problems with excess water.

We recommend using an approx. 3 cm layer of Hydro Drain on the floor of the terrarium and here cover with Lucky Reptile Hydro Fleece. Hydro Fleece acts as insulation and prevents the substrate from falling into the Hydro Drain.
