Detailed information

Product detailed description

Fly Feeder is easy to use, has a safe closing mechanism, adjustable side vents and a practical closing opening so that feeding insects can gradually climb out of the terrariums. It is very well cleaned and disinfected for reuse.

Fly Feeder is suitable for many types of flying feeding insects, e.g. fruit flies, leafhoppers, flies, moths, etc.< /p>

Insects raised in the Fly Feeder box do not need to be transferred, you just place the entire box in the terrarium and open a small hole through which the insects will gradually fly out. Suitable for longer-term supply of live insects in terrariums, e.g. during absence or when there are more animals in one terrarium.

Usage: insert suitable substrate for the given insect species (e.g. NEKTON Drosophila) to the bottom of the feeder. Place the eggs, insect larvae or adults that lay the eggs in the substrate (Fig. 1, AB on the original packaging). Place the Fly Feeder in a location with the appropriate climate for the insect species (Fig. 3, AB). Wait until the food insects hatch (temperature and number of days for the given species, see fig. 3, AB on the original packaging).

If you have placed adults in the feeder , who have just laid eggs, the time shown in Fig. 3 will be several days longer. After the feeding insects have hatched, place the Fly Feeder in the terrarium and open the top cap (Fig. 4 on the original packaging). You can thus freely dose the amount of insects that should climb out of the feeder. 1-2 days before the feeding insects actually hatch, it is possible to add a little extra feeding, e.g. LR Tropical Fruit Jam.
